Eric J. Poggemiller joined the firm in July of 2007 and practices in several areas, including construction law, civil litigation, criminal defense, traffic matters, and employment law.
He spent four years as a state prosecutor, prosecuting crimes as diverse as child support, driving while intoxicated, narcotics, terroristic threats, and manslaughter. At the same time he gained experience in civil matters as well, including paternity actions, criminal forfeiture proceedings, and license revocations.
Mr. Poggemiller has significant courtroom experience first-chairing both jury and bench trails. He is licensed in both Missouri and Kansas, and has practiced before the Court of Appeals, winning the 2007 David J. Dixon award for outstanding appellate advocacy.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. While in law school, he was published by the North Carolina Banking Institute and was a national finalist on his school's Moot Court Negotiation Team.
Mr. Poggemiller is a St. Joseph native. He has been married to his wife Leslie since 2000, and they have one son, Kevin.
